Zombie Fly Anglers
If you have stopped by the shop recently you have probably noticed our staff shambling around like zombies.  Bags under the eyes, breath reeking of stale coffee, muttering something that sounds vaugely like "buggggs".

The reason for this odd behavior is because of the summer season.  Fishing from before first light to about 10, then turning around and fishing from 4 to dark and even into the night does strange things to an angler.  We have seen trico spinner falls and micro BWO's in the morning and fish rising to midges both morning and evening.  There are too many anglers who give up on summer fishing thinking it is just simply too hot.  But quite a few of these anglers are starting their fishing day at 9 in the morning, letting the sun beat down on them all day and get a few terrestrial eaters and a sunburn for their efforts.

We can not stress enough the importance of fishing when the angle of the sun is low to completely off the water.  Fish do not like to stare into the sun!  Bring some tiny dries and nymphs as well as ants, beetles, crickets and hoppers and even the blazing hot days you will catch fish as long as you are willing to become a Driftless Area summer zombie.

Low angled light, pre dawn, plus shade equals fish.
