Yes, you can catch fish after it rains
The trout's view after 3 inches of rain on Wednesday night.

The fly was 10 inches from the camera.
I missed about a dozen fish on that section of water targeting the slower flat water.  The type of water that under normal conditions you find trout feeding on the surface and 99% of the time you spook them at about 40 feet.  The fish in murky water are looking to get out of the major flow and find a place that is a bit more settled.  And yes they do feed.
Just do not be asleep at the wheel like I was and you can catch fish when the water is murky.
Remember if you can see your laces in an ankle deep riffle, you have a chance at catching fish.

Absolutely agree Matt. We had a banner day last Thursday after the heavy rains. We found some headwaters that were running off color but still had 6-10" of visibility. We caught a good number of larger trout using buggers and leach patterns. We returned 2 days later to clear water but not nearly the number and size of fish.
