I have had a couple questions lately about the Scott Custom Rod Shop listing a G2 7'3" 3 weight rod as an option.
  It is a rod not commercially available in the United States called the Japan Special.


Designed to fish for very technically demanding Yamame with sometimes ridiculously light leaders (down to 10x), it is made to be accurate and very forgiving on light tippet.
  Not designed for tossing a Sculpzilla, rather the Japan Special excells at painting the fly onto the water without any disturbance to fool fussy fish, and to give the maximum protection to light tippets.
  A short 3 weight made for fussy fish and technical streams?  Sounds like a perfect Driftless Rod!
  These rods retail for over $1000 in Japan, so through the Scott Custom Rod Shop it is actually cheaper to design your own.
  This is an incredible chance to grab a rare rod that fits perfectly in our area.
