March 3rd Fishing Report

SHOP OPEN FRI 1-5, Saturday 9-2 and Sunday 9-noon.

Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. East wind around 8 mph becoming north in the afternoon.

Creeks are starting to see some snowmelt with the warm-ish temperatures.  This is normally occurring around 2.  Once the snowmelt hits the creeks, the fishing drops off or shuts down completely.  Even a small trickle of melt can drop the water temperature and end your fishing day.  A thermometer is extremely important right now!

We're seeing midges and winter stoneflies pretty much daily, and fish are happily eating small, thin bodied bugs in the riffles and at the drop off and tailout of pools.
