April 4th Fishing Report

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 4pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. High near 46. Breezy, with an east wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 18 to 23 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 38 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
A mixed bag of weather coming up today and tomorrow.  If it does not come all at once things will be just fine.  These gusty winds will last until Friday.
Olives have been hatching almost all day long right next to midges.  If you are on the right creek, this has been some of the better dry fly fishing in early April we have had in years.  On the creeks that the hatch is sparse, fishing a chubby chernobyl in olive or brown with a thread franchise or pink squirrel below has been deadly.
For more aggressive fish, a baby swim coach fished deep in the pools has been a lot of fun lately!
