April 7th Fishing Report

Partly sunny, with a high near 53. East wind 5 to 11 mph becoming south in the afternoon.
Creeks are clear to very slightly stained with temperatures in the low 40s.  With the mild warming trend coming this weekend and into next week, we are on caddis watch!
In the meantime, fishing has been quite good on olives and midges as well as winter stones on the surface.  Subsurface has been excellent on scuds and squirrels as well as continuing to be strong on the thin bodied bugs with a bit of flash.
With the clear water and sun, fish are still spooky so focus your efforts on the broken water in the riffles and runs as fish in the flat pools are near impossible to catch lately!
Streamers and leeches are getting aggressive eats too, especially early and late in the day when the sun is not shining directly on the water.
