April 16th Fishing Report

A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 4pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 63. Windy, with an east wind 13 to 18 mph increasing to 24 to 29 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 44 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Forecast is for the rains to come later in the day and overnight.  Up to a couple of inches is predicted.  This is MUCH needed rain, and unless it comes all at once the ground will instantly soak most of it up.
The creeks are low and clear right now with temperatures in the low 50s.  The warm spell is over and temperatures are back to normal.  With the cooler and cloudy weather we expect to see more olives and spring stoneflies than caddis over the next day or two.
Subsurface fishing will be great with the clouds in the sky.  Scuds, leeches, and small streamers will be back into play in a big way while the creeks are shaded.
