March 3rd Fishing Report

Partly sunny, with a high near 40. Breezy, with a west wind 7 to 12 mph increasing to 13 to 18 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph.
These conditions are the absolute best you can ask for when snow is on the ground.  It is warm enough to have good fishing, but not so warm that things melt quickly and muddy/cool down the creeks.  We will get some snowmelt, but it locks up again at night and should not be enough to cause fishing to be poor.
Make sure you are fishing between 9 and 2 or 3 and you will have the best success.
We should continue to see midges and winter stoneflies.  The olives we saw on Sunday might show up again, but normally it has to be a bit warmer for olives to come out.
Subsurface fishing on thin, dark patterns as well as leeches and streamers fished slowly subsurface.

SHOP IS CLOSED TODAY AND THURSDAY.
