April 8th Fishing Report

Showers, mainly before 10am. Steady temperature around 60. South wind 8 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Creeks are clear and low.  Temperatures are in the low 50s.
The forecast is not calling for enough rain to change that much except in the case of an isolated thundershower.  If the valley you are in is getting some heavy rains, cross into the next valley as the weather could be completely different!
We're seeing midges, caddis, olives and a few spring stoneflies on the menu right now.  Typically we will start with a foam fly and a dropper early, then switch to the appropriate dry to match the hatch.
If the fish are lockjaw and refuse to eat your dry, try hanging an emerger or pupae behind your dry and hang on!
