April 14th Fishing Report

A 20 percent chance of showers after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 44. Northwest wind 7 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Creeks are clear with temperatures in the low 50s.
Today is the last day of cloud cover for a few more days.  This means that the hatches should transition from olives (cloudy weather) to caddis and craneflies (sunnier weather) over the next few days.  Watch the rise forms.  If the fish are gently rising or sipping it is most likely olives.  If they are splashy and jumping out of the water, then it is most likely caddis or cranes.
We're still having good success on leeches and foam flies with a dropper below during the early part of the day.  Fish start feeding on the surface typically around mid day.
