May 19th Fishing Report

A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 72. Light south wind increasing to 6 to 11 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
The area received roughly 1/4 to 1/2 an inch of rain throughout the last 24 hours.  This has left our creeks clear to slightly stained as the ground is dry enough to absorb quite a bit of rainfall.
Everything woke up yesterday, the fish were happy all day long feeding on generic parachutes (size 18 and 14) as well as hippie stompers on the surface.  Subsurface they were eating scuds, leeches, perdigons, etc.  If they continue to feed heavily (thanks to the clouds and rains) pattern doesn't really matter, just focus on the shin to thigh deep water below riffles to find the actively feeding fish.  Later on in the day they will also push up into the shallow waters to eat emerging bugs, cast a couple flies right in the skinny water!
