June 11th Fishing Report

A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4pm. Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 95. Heat index values as high as 100. West wind 5 to 8 mph.
It's horribly hot out there again today.  We have been crushed with a week of unseasonably hot weather.  These temperatures are what we expect in a heat wave in August, not June!
Some of our middle and lower sections of creeks are measuring over 70 degrees water temperature.  Not only will the fishing be slow, but we are actively risking harming trout at those temperatures.
There is still some fishable and temperature stable water (low to mid 60) out there, but it is becoming harder to find with no end in sight to the heat wave.  If you are fishing the next couple of days, please make sure to use your thermometer.  Remember that anything over 65 will start to be poor fishing.
With the water flows and temperatures we are getting right now, we don't recommend making much of an effort to head out and fish our part of the Driftless.
