January 1st Fishing Report
Happy New Year and season opener!
A 20 percent chance of snow after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 9. Wind chill values as low as -10. North wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
What a bummer of an opener. Cold and high wind chill, it isn't worth it to fish as it will sink, and the fish will be harmed if they are taken out of the water.
Things turn around again around Tuesday looking at the forecast.
Remember in the winter you are looking for at least 25 degrees and sunny or 35 degrees and cloudy for the best fishing. Anything colder than that and you will enjoy being outside, but do not expect good fishing.
