April 22nd Fishing Report

Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 4pm. High near 55. Breezy, with a southeast wind 11 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Yesterday's sun brought out the caddis for a bit!  With the cloud, rain and wind this weekend it looks like the hatch will be suppressed and the olives should show up in better numbers.
Overall fishing has been quite solid lately with fish eating subsurface very well on caddis larvae, purple drank, and leeches.  To figure out what they are eating on the surface, watch the rising fish.  A gentle sip or just the nose coming out of the water means they are eating mayflies and emergers.  An aggressive, splashy rise or even jumping out of the water means that they are eating caddis.
