June 16th Fishing Report

Sunny, with a steady temperature around 78. Breezy, with a west wind 6 to 11 mph increasing to 13 to 18 mph. Winds could gust as high as 36 mph.
The weather has stabiliized a bit towards normal for late spring.  It isn't blisterning hot again until Monday.
The recent rains do have some creeks muddy, but there is plenty of fishable water and even some clear creeks out there.
We have started to see some small hoppers!  We're still doing well fishing beetles with bead heads below (the pearl jam has been excellent!) and still seeing trout rise to lighter colored mayflies the last couple hours of the day.
It is about time to start thinking about checking water temperatures.  While it is not an issue right now, as things warm up into the summertime make sure you are keeping track of where the water temps are.  Anything over 65 will be poor fishing and much hotter than that can be lethal to trout.
